Mini packages have been around for quite sometime and they are now becoming the hot product for the industry due to their low price and limited coverage periods. These packages were initially designed for the seasonal worker market which allows these people to get the necessary insurance when they need it most, when they’re working. Many industries in the manufacturing field have the ability to raise or lower employees on demand and when the industry offered them, many were delighted. These workers were not qualified under old policies due to the short length of their tenure with firms, giving them the flexibility to choose the most appropriate schedule allows flexibility and competitive prices to low income workers who can now have coverage where there was traditionally none.

Hearing in the House Financial Services Committee’s Capital Market’s Sub-Committee has received a proposal for the creation of an oversight agency that would work with state legislators by providing timely information about the industry as a whole. The move is being opposed by many providers for they see a lot of loopholes citing the meddling of too many people in a previously self-regulated industry. The amount of influence this agency would have would be so grave that any misinformation or interpretation of the industry can mean the difference between making the cut or not in the field. This has long been opposed by providers and state legislators alike due to the many loopholes such an agency would create, the agency’s actions will dictate the overall health of the industry with recommendations to state legislators on the current health/status of the industry from their standpoint. State governments have been opposing this and want to maintain self-regulation of the industry within state walls which allows a more localized analyses of the industry.

Immigrants have long been coming to the United States which if it were left to itself may have an America which is over-run by nationals from all over the world who want a better life. May they be immigrants or asylum seekers; they are all facing a very harsh reality that life in America is not at all easy as it has been made to look. The financial crisis is leaving many immigrants without healthcare for they do not have access to proper healthcare due to their menial jobs. Most immigrants have illegal relatives living with them which they cannot support them. Health care has been moving to cover even those who do not have access to proper healthcare but still burdens the healthcare system. America is trying to maintain its image of the land of all who want to go to greener pastures which has come and gone. The country is facing internal problems that the country itself is finding hard to recover from increased expenditure internally and externally they may find it hard to recover from.

As expected, the figures for the month of Jan and February are pretty much low which has many puckering their lips as the first quarter earnings reports await release. The industry is suffering greatly as more and more people that are hit by the financial crisis tend to put off their policies for now. The current economic outlook also has lower applications and sales of policies in the health insurance avenue of their businesses in North America and Canada alike. Another effect on the industry is that the many commercial policies that are getting lower and lower in terms of figures as employers trim down their ranks to lower costs. The many lay-off’s we are seeing is having more than an impact on the housing industry for how can a family get insurance if they don’t even have a home to live in?

As expected, the confidence of consumers has hit the lowest ever in 26 years which is not good and a good indicator of worsening economic conditions. The coming tax rebates are to be put into payments for debts and savings as food and fuel prices hit all time highs which also makes the entry of a full blown recession a reality. Analysts have long been saying the country is already in recession but many still fail to accept the fact that it is still going to get worse. The worsening economy will affect most Americans who fall in the middle to lower levels and the government’s efforts to help ease the pain are only proving to be temporary but necessary.

Several States in the US have begun to overhaul their health care systems to make it affordable and competitive enough Americans can say they have a choice. They mostly hit snags when the question of rising costs and making it more accessible are asked sometimes ending in gridlock. They could learn from UK officials who affected reforms that had premiums rise a bit that resulted in many complaints from their constituents. When the financial crisis began and health care was one of the first casualties of the crunch, but what do you know, the raised prices they asked for worked and even earned city hall enough money to re-direct it to their schools. Students stayed in school, constituents still had healthcare they could afford, everybody was happy. The crisis could have been avoided if lawmakers in the US hadn’t been so engrossed in the business of their military expenditure and other issues such as the elections, experts have predicted it sometime ago but still people were caught so off guard, they lost their insurance benefits. It just happened too darned fast and nobody could have stopped the problems, even the president, for the money needed was elsewhere and the financial crisis back home didn’t help either. It will be sometime before the smoke clears and we could see if all the promises and plans get implemented into viable affordable health care plans for all. Let us just pray they can do it in time before more Americans die of the lack of insurance.

Statistics show that about 43 million Americans currently have to live without healthcare and 6 million of those are children. Various groups such as private and public civic groups that are composed of industry experts have long been saying that a major crisis is looming in the industry the sub-prime lending issues that rocked the nation and the world worsened the effects. Americans today who have healthcare insurance have to pay a lot of cash right out of their pockets even with the assurance they have health care. Retirees are getting worst news that even if they have pensions and health insurance, they will be spending a huge proportion of their retirement benefits for the medical treatments they may need. This is ironic, for one of the richest countries on earth has citizens who do not have access to health care are faring the same as those with them which would be a simple case of wasted effort and legislation.

The candidates have campaigned and said what they want to say, but one area in particular is being seen by many as one of the determining factors whether a candidate will win or loose their approaches to health care. The Republican John McCain is for health care that encourages responsibility among Americans to save up for a needy day. The Democrats Hillary and Barack want a health care system that is affordable yet high in quality that would be accomplished through the inter-working of private and public insurance firms. Their approaches may be a breath of fresh air that is beginning to highlight the issue with the defunct health care system yet the solutions they propose may be a tad bit too late for them to make any difference.

The crisis that the health care system is facing has been brewing for sometime and thankfully, it is finally getting much needed attention from media, the general public and lawmakers. This may be due to the many studies that even with healthcare many people still end up surprised with the high costs even in the wee years of retirement. Retirees, even with health insurance will spend the rest of their breathing days having to pay for much of their health care needs out of their pensions even with health insurance in place. Many people with insurance but mostly without are getting surprised at just how high the amounts of cash that has to go out of their financial stores just to maintain the health of their families. Underinsured people suffer so much around two die every minute just because they do not have insurance and cannot afford the medical treatment they need.

This is part of the insurance process for most providers, especially for those who are trying to avail coverage of more than a million dollars. This is to assure that the insurance company is getting a fair deal which is why people are told to allow total disclosure as possible for any hidden medical condition can lead to rescission or render the policy void. This is avoided by thorough investigation of medical records from your family to your past ones and even the slightest hint of a risk for the insurance will be ticked as a point against you. Too many points against you and you do not get approved so do work with the insurance and enlist the help of your agent to avoid future problems for your loved ones.
